Lunor Pay receives SEIS and EIS advance assurance from HMRC

Lunor Pay Ltd, the UK neobank building a single platform for payment cards, multi-currency FX, savings and concierge services, has received advance assurance from HMRC under both the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) and the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS).

The assurance relates to a proposed investment of £950,000 in Lunor Pay’s ordinary shares.

What advance assurance means

Advance assurance is HMRC’s provisional view, given before shares are issued, that it expects to authorise the company to issue SEIS and EIS compliance certificates. Those certificates are what eligible investors use to claim the reliefs.

It is not a guarantee. HMRC’s assurance is based on the information provided and the legislation in force today. If the facts or the law change before the shares are issued, it may no longer apply. After each share issue the company must still file its compliance statements (SEIS1 and EIS1) with HMRC.

How it was done

The application was prepared with our partner SeedLegals, whose platform handles the HMRC paperwork, while BDM worked with Lunor Pay on the structure of the round.
